
Sébastien Pellet is one of the most outstanding talents of the young pianist generation. He studied at the Budapest Liszt Academy of Music between 2018 and 2021 under the guidance of Attila Némethy and András Kemenes, then continued at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel in Zoltán Fejérvári's class. In 2025, he earned his master's degree with distinction from the Liszt Academy as a student of Dénes Várjon. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies.
He is the laureate of numerous national and international competitions: he won 2nd prize at the Békéscsaba National Piano Competition in 2015 and 2018, and 1st prize at the 2017 National Harpsichord Competition. In 2021, he won first prize in two categories at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, along with several special prizes. In 2024, he received 2nd prize at the Graz International Béla Bartók Piano Competition and reached the semi-finals at the Weimar International Franz Liszt Competition, winning a special prize for best chamber music performance. In 2025, he was a finalist at the Bartók World Competition, receiving multiple special prizes.
He regularly performs at Hungary's most prestigious concert halls, including the Great Hall of the Liszt Academy and the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall at Müpa Budapest. His international concert activity is also significant: he has given concerts in numerous European countries, and in 2022 he performed as a soloist with the Sinfonieorchester Basel at the Stadtcasino Basel.
He is a frequent soloist with major Hungarian orchestras: he has collaborated with the Saint Stephen Philharmonic, the Danubia Orchestra, the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, the Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra, and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. His artistic career is marked by several prestigious awards, including the Zoltán Kocsis Award and the Junior Prima Award (2022), as well as the Annie Fischer Musical Performance Scholarship (2024).
